68 grouper, 73 Reds, 50 Rockfish,
98 Sculpin, 7 Lingcod, 30 Calico Bass, 19 Sandbass,
10 Barracuda, 1 Sheephead, 2 Wolf Eel (released).
The whopper is a 12 lb lingcod landed by Malakhi Simmons
of Los Angeles on Sunday. His fish was caught on the
anchor on live sardine on 20 lb test rental tackle. There
is a photo of three fellas with three lings and Malakhi is
on the far left in a camo jacket. He and his fishing buddies
were responsible for 3 of 6 lings on our Sunday trip! The fish were caught on live sardine or live mackerel. Also
in the mix were salmon grouper and reds, mostly caught
on sardine.
We will be chartered on Monday, August 2nd.
We mark the passing of dear longtime Betty O fisherman
and devoted family man Ken Ivy. aged 65, on July 28th
of an apparent heart attack at his Redondo Beach home.

IN MEMORY OF THE GREAT "DOC" September 21, 1916 - July 14, 2007. He enjoyed his last fishing trip
aboard the Betty-O on July 13th. Doc's beloved wife of 62 years, Nancy,
passed away in 2004. He is survived by 12 of his 14 children.
